Reported Newcastle United target Bamba Dieng has now been exiled from the Olympique Marseille senior squad as new manager Igor Tudor looks to sell the Senegal international this summer.

According to L’Equipe, tensions between Marseille players and the Croatian head coach are already flaring up, with Dieng now being banished from training with the first team amid interest from Newcastle and Bundesliga side Freiburg, with the club now looking to sell the forward.

Dieng is not the only player Tudor is eager to sell this summer, with the report stating that the former Hellas Verona manager is willing to offload any senior player who is not willing to commit to his methods in pre-season, which is why the Newcastle target has hardly featured in this summer’s fixtures ahead of the club’s return to the UEFA Champions League.

With a reported price tag of £15m, Dieng could be a potential bargain this summer for any club looking to sign a striker, with the 22-year-old often likened and hailed as ‘the next Sadio Mane’ for his incredible attacking abilities, which is why Newcastle are reportedly keen on the youngster.

Indeed, Eddie Howe is looking to add another forward to his squad this summer, and with Marseille now seemingly doing everything they can to sell Dieng, now is the perfect time for Newcastle move for the African prospect, who could be a sensation option for the Magpies for many years to come.

A natural centre-forward able to play out on the left, this attacking versatility makes Dieng an ideal signing for many sides in Europe looking for an attacker who can be both adaptive and also operate in numerous roles, exactly what Newcastle need should Marseille pull the trigger and put the Senegal talent on the transfer list.

Newcastle have done solid business this summer in the form of Nick Pope and Sven Botman, but ask any fan and they will all say that the Toon need a forward for the upcoming season, and Dieng is too perfect for the Magpies to neglect in the coming weeks.

At 22, Dieng is one of Ligue 1’s most exciting talents, and with Marseille set on selling the forward this summer, Newcastle could land a bargain if they play their cards right for the Senegal attacker, who could be a revelation for the northeast Premier League side.
