Arsenal centre-back Pablo Mari is reportedly on AC Milan’s radar this January as the Serie A side aim to sign a defender.
According to Sky Sports Italia via Milan Live, the European giant are eager to improve their defence this month, with Mari one of four players on Milan’s shortlist. As well as the Spaniard, the Rossoneri are eyeing Nathan Ake, Eric Bailly and Malang Sarr.
Whilst Mari is the oldest out of the quartet, the former Flamengo star could be the easiest of the players to sign, with the 28-year-old last playing for Arsenal in late September in the League Cup against AFC Wimbledon.
Arsenal signed the defender two years ago in a deal worth £12m according to Sky Sports News. Yet despite some impressive performances over the past few seasons, Mari’s place with the squad has been firmly on the bench.
The former Manchester City defender was ridiculed for his displays against Brentford and Chelsea at the start of the season. However, Mari could now be on the move to Milan, who could make a move for the centre-back.
With the north London side stocked for central defenders, it seems likely that Mari will leave north London this month if an offer comes in, and Milan could be the destination.
Milan transfer would be ideal for Mari and Arsenal

With the Spaniard having a next-to-no future with Arsenal, Mari leaving the Gunners would be an ideal situation for all parties, and Milan would be a great landing spot for the 28-year-old.
The Serie A giants sit second in the table and are locked in a tight title race with Inter Milan. And Mari could be a welcome addition to Milan given his defensive and leadership qualities from the backline.
