Wolves could miss out on Southampton attacker Nathan Redmond with the winger reportedly in talks to sign for Turkish giants Besiktas, who have until Thursday before their transfer window closes.
According to Fanatik, the Istanbul side are keen to add to their attacking depth after a solid start to the season for Besiktas, with the Black Eagles currently sat fourth in the Turkish Super Lig, and Redmond is now in talks to leave Southampton and sign for the eastern European side.
The former Norwich City winger has played just once for Southampton this season as a move away from St. Mary’s looks more likely than ever, with Wolves reportedly making a late approach to sign Redmond as a replacement for Hwang Hee-chan, who looked set to join Leeds United on deadline day, though a deal never took place.
And now, Besiktas have swooped in to take the lead in the race to sign Redmond, who could join Dele Alli at Vodafone Park, with the former England international joining the Turkish side on loan last month in one of the most surprising deals of the entire summer transfer window.
Indeed, Valerien Ismael is constructing one impressive team for Besiktas this summer, and should Southampton allow their reported £11m signing from Norwich to leave in the coming days, Redmond could have an exciting new adventure ahead of him in Turkey despite interest in Wolves.
Had Hwang left Leeds, the 26-year-old would have been a great replacement for the South Korean international, though with a deal never happening, Wolves are now set to miss out on Redmond as talks with a move to Besiktas likely to intensify over the next few days.
Redmond signing for Besiktas could be a better move than Wolves

Wolves might be one of the best-ran football clubs in England, but for Redmond, signing for a club like Besiktas over the Molineux side could have be a better and more exciting transfer for the former England youth star given the position the Turkish side find themselves in.
Like all three of the big Istanbul clubs, this season is a transition year for Besiktas, something that has been reflected well in their signings this summer, and for Redmond, a move to Turkey could be what the Southampton outcast needs to get his once-promising career back off the ground.
