It’s fair to say that Omari Hutchinson is starting to cause quite a stir around Arsenal.
Hutchinson catches the eye
Hutchinson’s latest display for Arsenal’s under-23 side was highly impressive, as the Gunners claimed a 3-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
It was Hutchinson who scored Arsenal’s second goal of the night, as he produced a fine finish from inside the box.
His performance actually saw plenty of Gunners fans starting to compare him to Bukayo Saka.
Saka has come through Arsenal’s youth academy to become a star for both club and country, so it is quite the compliment.
And Arsenal fans are now becoming increasingly excited about the 18-year-old’s potential, especially as he may even be a better finisher than Saka.
Can Hutchinson step up?
Of course, scoring goals at development squad level is easier than in the Premier League.
However, if there is one area where Saka could improve it is with his goalscoring.
The Arsenal prospect hasn’t exactly been prolific since making the step up to the top tier, despite all his strengths.
Hutchinson, meanwhile, now has five goals in 10 games for Arsenal’s development side, and has also claimed two assists.
Those numbers are sure to be boasting his reputation with the Gunners, and it may not be too long before Mikel Arteta decides to take a closer look at him in the first-team.
