Speaking to the BBC ahead of England vs Iran (BBC1 21/11/21 12PM), Gary Lineker has been giving his point of view on Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham is widely recognised as one of Europe’s better midfielders, but English fans would be forgiven for not knowing all that much about the reported Liverpool target due to the fact he plays his football over in Germany.
However, as ever, Lineker has his finger on the pulse with Bellingham, and he says that the Borussia Dortmund ace reminds him of Manchester United legend and former England captain Bryan Robson.

Bellingham compared to Robson
Lineker gave his opinion on Bellingham.
“He looks like a future England captain doesn’t he. Mature, intelligent. He reminds me of another England captain a little bit, Bryan Robson. He’s box-to-box, he’ll score you a goal, he’ll defend, he’s strong, he’s tough,” Lineker said.
What Liverpool need
Liverpool are keen on Bellingham and it sounds as though the midfielder is exactly what they need.
A prime Bryan Robson would be perfect for this Jurgen Klopp team, covering every blade of grass and making things happen at both ends of the pitch. If Bellingham can fill that role, Liverpool need to go out and get him.
Of course, signing a player as hyped and as promising as Bellingham is much easier said than done, but given that the Reds have put a lot of groundwork into this transfer, they could well be adding this gem to their midfield in the coming months.
Unfortunately for the Reds, Bellingham’s price tag may be about to rocket if he continues his incredible form at the World Cup.
