Jamie Redknapp has backed Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Lautaro Martinez to win the Golden Boot at the 2022 World Cup for Argentina.
The Sky Sports pundit also thinks England captain Harry Kane has a ‘great opportunity’ to add another Golden Boot to his name – after doing so in Russia in 2018.
Both Kane and Martinez head to Qatar in a rich vein of form and hoping to push their respective teams deep into the competition.

Martinez, who is a £72 million transfer target of Spurs, has eight goals and six assists in all competitions this season for Inter Milan, whilst Kane has an impressive 12 from 15 Premier League matches.
Nonetheless, when talking about who could win the Golden Boot in the Middle East, Redknapp put Martinez’s name forward and also spoke about Kane, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (13/11/22 at 7:55 pm).
“Whoever wins the Golden Boot, they normally score goals in their group game,” said Redknapp. “They have got Saudi Arabia in their group. That’s why I have gone for them.
“Harry Kane has a great opportunity as well. You look at those fixtures as well. If he can start off well against Iran. Nobody has ever won back-to-back Golden Boots, but it would be great to see him do that.
“But I think Martinez would get goals in that team.”

ARGENTINA ONE OF THE FAVOURITES
This is going to be the last dance for one of the world’s greatest in Lionel Messi and a great chance for him to end his international career on a high.
Argentina will be one of the favourites to win the World Cup and their recent Copa America win, and that against Brazil, will stand them in good stead.
Perhaps a meeting between two old rivals in Argentina and England could be on the cards for the knockout stages? That would be seriously tasty if that were to happen.
