Red Bull Salzburg teenager Roko Simic is being called up for Champions League duty just days after links with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to Net in Simic’s native Croatia, who claim that Simic has now been recalled from a loan spell at FC Liefering.
Liefering are Red Bull Salzburg’s feeder club, and they often receive young players on loan from their big brothers, such as Karim Adeyemi in the past.
This time, it’s Simic who has been shining at Liefering.
The Croatian hitman, 18, has hit seven goals in 10 games for Liefering this season. Add in five goals in four Croatia Under-21 caps and Simic is becoming a star.
The son of former AC Milan defender Dario Simic, Roko is now allegedly being recalled by Red Bull to be thrown into the squad for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Wolfsburg.
That’s quite the shock development for the teenager, who will go from second-tier action in Austria to Europe’s premier club competition.
Arsenal and Tottenham want Simic
North London duo Arsenal and Tottenham will surely be interested in these developments.

Jeunes Footeux reported last week that Tottenham and West Ham both want to sign Simic, branding him ‘the new Erling Haaland’.
The Sunday Mirror then added that Arsenal are chasing a £7million deal. Simic is allegedly being compared to Mario Mandzukic, and Arsenal scouts want Edu and Mikel Arteta to make a move.
Simic could now be given a chance to shine in the Champions League, giving the pair a chance to see him against top competition.
This may increase the asking price on Simic, but what an opportunity for him to show exactly why there is real hype around him.
