Arsenal are now battling Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Red Bull Salzburg striker Roko Simic in a move worth around £7million plus add-ons.
That’s according to The Sunday Mirror (17/10, p72), who claim that Arsenal are looking to swoop in and sign Simic.
It’s claimed that the striker is being compared to Mario Mandzukic in terms of being a big and physical Croatian centre forward.
The 18-year-old was born in Italy as he is the son of former AC Milan defender Dario Simic.

Arsenal face Tottenham battle for Simic
Rumours of Arsenal wanting Simic come just days after Tottenham were linked with a move.
Jeunes Footeux report that Tottenham and West Ham United both want to sign Simic.
Red Bull Salzburg have helped develop the likes of Erling Haaland, Patson Saka and Karim Adeyemi, with Simic potential the next in the production line.
Arsenal scouts allegedly feel that Simic would fit the Premier League perfectly, telling Mikel Arteta to make a move.
At just £7million plus add-ons, Simic could be a bargain. Arsenal aren’t alone in the race for Simic though, and will have to fend off Tottenham in the race.
