Tottenham Hotspur interim head coach Ryan Mason has praised Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier, as quoted in Football.London.
Leeds got the better of Tottenham 3-1 at Elland Road in the Premier League today.
It was a very entertaining game, but, as normal these days, there were refereeing and VAR controversies.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane had two goals ruled out for offside, leaving Mason annoyed with one of those decisions.
However, Mason was impressed by one save from Leeds goalkeeper Meslier which denied Spurs right-back Serge Aurier a goal.
Mason told Football.London: “I think we had Sonny hitting one wide and Harry hitting the bar. Coco had a really big opportunity and their goalkeeper pulled off a really good save from Serge as well.”
Meslier is only 21 years of age, but the Frenchman has established himself as a key figure in the Leeds team.
The youngster has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Leeds, with Kiko Casilla his back-up.

True, Meslier is not perfect and can make mistakes, but all footballers make errors and he is only 21.
Leeds deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter against Tottenham, and one of the players who should be praised is Meslier.
Leeds are now in the top half of the Premier League table, above the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
