Ian Wright thinks West Ham United’s capture of Lucas Paqueta is one of the signings of the summer, as he told Premier League Productions (05/09/22 at 2:45 pm)
The former striker added that Paqueta is a ‘really good player’ after he arrived from Lyon for a club-record £51 million, according to Sky Sports.
It was a top capture by the Hammers because it was also suggested that Manchester City were keen to sign the player if Bernardo Silva had left the Etihad.

That in itself tells you the calibre of player West Ham have been able to lure to the London Stadium and what he could produce this season.
One of Paqueta’s best friends is Newcastle United midfielder, Bruno Guimarães, and he is already a fan favourite at St James’ Park, despite only signing in January.
Nonetheless, when Wright was asked to share his standout signings from the recently-concluded summer transfer window, he put forward Paqueta’s name.
“I think Paqueta as well,” said Wright. “He signed for West Ham. I think he is also going to be a good signing.
“Really good player, a left-footer for Brazil.”

ANOTHER EUROPEAN FINISH FOR MOYES?
West Ham narrowly missed out on Europa League football last season and their lack of depth had a big part to play in that.
Now, David Moyes has been backed, he had depth, so the aim will be to secure another top-six finish.
It doesn’t help that they have made an indifferent start to the new season because, after six games, they are sitting in the relegation zone.
It’s still early days yet, but Moyes will want his players to get out of that and push up the table, as soon as possible.
