West Ham are reportedly close to reaching an agreement to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja according to a new update from Fabrizio Romano.
Taking to Twitter, the Italian journalist posted on social media that the Hammers are currently finalising a deal to sign the Albanian international, with Broja likely to join West Ham on loan as per previous reports that emerged over the weekend.
West Ham have been looking to sign a striker for the majority of the transfer window, with David Moyes seemingly settling on Broja after the 20-year-old attacker enjoyed a breakout year in the Premier League last season with Southampton on loan.
The Slough-born forward won plenty of plaudits for his performances for the Saints as well as his unique style of play, something that could make Broja a star with West Ham should the signing be a success for the towering Chelsea academy product.
With a reported price tag of £30m, West Ham could have signed Broja on a permanent deal given how perfect the Premier League striker would have been for Moyes’ long-term plans for the Irons, however, a loan move could be the more sensible option as there’s every chance that the 20-year-old fails to settle in east London.
As we know, West Ham have struggled massively in recent years to sign a striker who fits the club’s style, with Michail Antonio, a wing-back converted into a striker, so far the club’s only real success in the past few years, a trend Broja will be looking to buck next season at the London Stadium.
West Ham are making a great move signing Broja for the season

A quality striker is arguably all that’s missing for West Ham in their quest to become a top club in England, and recruiting Broja more than fits the bill for what Moyes needs in his squad ahead of another year in Europe in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Indeed, the Scottish manager has got many transfers right during his time in the English capital, and luring Broja to West Ham and beating Premier League competition for the striker’s signature is a big coup for the Irons, who could be one of the top-flight’s most free-scoring sides next season.
