Gary Neville has predicted Manchester United to miss out on top-four as the Red Devils drew 1-1 to Leicester City in a result that pleased Arsenal supporters.
Speaking on Sky Sports via the Metro after Saturday night’s Premier League fixture, the former United defender admitted that the Manchester giants could be out of contention for a top-four spot in the Premier League.
Ralf Rangnick’s side currently sit sixth in the standings and three points off Arsenal, who have two games in hand over United and will host the Red Devils later this month at the Emirates Stadium.
Indeed, whilst top-four is far from wrapped up for Arsenal, Neville conceded this weekend that United are out of the race for a top European spot, with the Manchester side having the hardest run-in out of all the sides in contention for a Champions League finish.
Neville said when asked if United are out of the top-four race: “I think so. They had to get off with a win, obviously, and they didn’t get the win, they drew the game, but it was the way they drew the game. That was really bad out there today.”
The Premier League legend later added: “This is going to be a long two months for those Manchester United players and Manchester United fans if they’re going to continue to play like that.”
Arsenal win vs. Crystal Palace should end United’s top-four hopes

With the Gunners playing tomorrow night against Crystal Palace, Mikel Arteta’s exciting squad could extend Arsenal’s lead over United in the Premier League table to six points, with a win a huge step for the north London side in returning to the UEFA Champions League.
Moreover, given the form of both Arsenal and United, three points at Selhurst Park could well end the Red Devils’ chances of finishing in the top four, with the north London side having a game in hand and the momentum to make return to the Champions League.
