Jamie Redknapp has said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:45pm, March 13, 2022) that Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is playing like Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
The former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder made the comments about Lacazette after watching him in action for Arsenal against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side won the Premier League match 2-0.
French striker Lacazette scored from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.
Alexandre Lacazette compared to Roberto Firmino
Redknapp said about Lacazette, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “Lacazette does a brilliant job for the team. He’s the link right now. You need that focal point.
“With Liverpool they have Firmino that does it and we’ve also stopped judging him on his goals for it.
“He’s finding a real position, Harry Kane does it at Tottenham. As long as you have pace going the other way, and Arsenal do.”

Important player
In our view, Lacazette is an important player for Arsenal and is doing well for Mikel Arteta’s side at the moment.
The striker does not score a lot of goals, but he works hard for the team and links up play well.
The Frenchman has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 16 Premier League starts for Arsenal so far this season.
Lacazette is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see what the Gunners do.
The Arsenal no. 9 is 30 years of age now, and Arsenal may not want to commit to a two or three-year contract with him.
