Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that Thomas Partey has improved and developed a lot under him.

Arteta made the comments about the Arsenal defensive midfielder following the match against Leicester City on Sunday.

The Gunners beat Leicester 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

Ghana international midfielder Partey headed home the opening goal and also hit the frame of the Leicester goal.

Arteta told Football.London about Partey: “He almost scored shooting. He was involved in both goals.

“You can see he was player of the month last year and he’s come a long way. Now it’s about consistency and keeping doing it.”

Important player

In our view, Partey is a very important player for Arsenal and has been playing well for a while.

The Ghanian had injury problems following his initial transfer from Atletico Madrid, but he is now fit and is playing well.

Partey is known for protecting the Arsenal back-line and being an imposing figure in the middle of the park.

However, as he showed against Leicester, he is very good at heading the ball and also at taking shots from distance.

Arsenal as a team are doing extremely well, and we can see that resulting in players such as Partey playing well and with confidence.

For Arsenal to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season, in our view, Partey will have to stay fit and stay on top of his game in the final weeks.
