Rangers winger Glenn Middleton has opened up on facing Galatasaray and LASK during his loan spell with St. Johnstone, and thinks coming up against teams of that quality can only be beneficial.
The Scotland under-21 star returned to McDiarmid Park on loan from Rangers after helping the Perth side to a domestic cup double last season and has impressed so far this term.
Middleton is delighted to be playing regularly again and admits playing in front of fans has made things a “little bit more special” this season.
I’ve been really enjoying it,” Middleton said.
“I’ve been playing a lot of football which is exactly what I’m after. Having the fans back has been great as well and made the European games that little bit more special.
“Even when you go out to do your warm-ups and the fans are there it just makes such a difference and gives you that extra bit of motivation. Playing against Galatasaray and LASK has really helped my development I think.
“Going up against those sorts of teams gives you confidence going forward so they were really beneficial experiences.”
Middleton is currently with the Scotland under-21 side and will be hoping they can pick up three points tomorrow night when they face Turkey in their opening European Qualifier.
