Rangers will reportedly not sign Aaron Ramsey on a permanent deal this summer despite Juventus’ intentions to offload the midfielder for good.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 72-cap Wales international will return to Turin at the end of his loan spell in Scotland despite having ‘no future’ with Juventus ahead of next season.
Ramsey joined Rangers on loan in the final hours of the January transfer window, with the former Arsenal star being hailed as one of the biggest signing in recent history for the Scottish Premiership.
However, injuries and a lack of consistent form have kept Ramsey out of the Rangers XI on numerous occasions, though the midfielder’s performances have proven to be key in the UEFA Europa League, where the Bears will face RB Leipzig in the semi-final later this month.
As per the report, whilst Ramsey is set to return to Juventus at the end of his loan spell with Rangers, the Serie A side are still determined to offload the midfielder, with the Welshman’s contract in Italian expiring in 2023.
Indeed, the 31-year-old is one of the highest earners at the club, with Ramsey making a reported £175,000-a-week with Juventus, which is a good reason why Rangers won’t be signing the midfielder for good this summer.
Ramsey’s future lays away from both Rangers and Juventus

Ramsey joining Rangers sent shockwaves beyond the Scottish footballing world, yet despite some good performances, it is clear that the Welshman’s next career step lays beyond both the Gers and Juventus.
After all, the midfielder will likely not take a massive wage cut to join Rangers for good this summer, and with Juventus having zero plans to play Ramsey, the Welsh dynamo must find a completely new club this summer.
