Rangers are looking to add Neil McCann to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s coaching staff at Ibrox with initial talks now opened.
That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that preliminary negotiations have been held with McCann.
McCann would allegedly jump at the chance to join Rangers as he seeks to get back into coaching.
The 47-year-old spent 18 months in charge of Dundee between 2017 and 2018 and a brief spell as Inverness Caledonian Thistle caretaker boss earlier this year.
McCann has also impressed as a pundit covering the Scottish game in recent years.
Now seeking a return to coaching, McCann could head back to former club Rangers.
McCann played for Rangers between 1998 and 2003, featuring alongside new Gers boss Van Bronckhorst.

They even played down the left flank together at times, possibly making him an ideal candidate to join Van Bronckhorst.
Rangers fans have been calling for McCann to join Van Bronckhorst’s staff, and it looks like a deal could happen.
There is a long way to go yet, but with talks taking place and Rangers keen to get a Scottish coach in to work with Van Bronckhorst, McCann could make a return to Ibrox very soon.
