Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to report that Rangers have made a third bid to sign winger Morgan Whittaker this month – after the Ibrox club had two previous bids rejected. It is believed a third offer is worth a total of £2m.
Whittaker, 22, has thrown himself onto the radar at Ibrox after starring for Plymouth in League One during the first half of the season. Clocking up 31 appearances for Plymouth, he has had a hand in 16 goals for the third-tier side.
But he has been recalled by Swansea and Rangers are interested. The Sun reported earlier this month that Rangers had a £900k bid rejected. Then, Romano said Rangers had a second bid of £1.5million thrown back by Swansea.
Now, Romano has come back with a new update – reporting a third bid. Previous reports from the Sun report that Swansea want £2million for Whittaker and it is now claimed that Rangers have met that asking price on Friday.

The Gers have a number of options out wide. Ianis Hagi is back after injury and expected to come back into the side. Scott Arfield, Ryan Kent, Fashion Sakala and others are options. Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe are injured now.
Whittaker is a player that Rangers lack. A player with bags of pace. Sakala has pace, but the Gers attack does lack speed in the final third. Kent is quick, but relies more on his foot work to go past players. Todd Cantwell has signed.
But again, the ex-Norwich man is not renowned for his speed – more his vision, creativity and technical abilities. So, Whittaker would be a top signing this month and it looks like Rangers are pushing hard to get a deal over the line.
