Rangers are now set to increase their bid to secure a transfer for Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin. The Ibrox outfit have so far fallen some way shy of Les Rouches’ price tag.
That is according to The Scottish Sun, which reports Rangers have offered Standard Liege a six-figure sum for Raskin. But the Stade Maurice Dufrasne team have slapped a price tag of €2m (£1.75m) on the 21-year-old. Even though he is out of contract with the outfit this June.
Les Rouches boss Ronny Deila has also ordered Raskin to train with the Jupiler Pro League side’s reserves. The one-time Celtic head coach has banished the youngster from his first-team squad after negotiations over a new contract broke down following a lucrative offer.

Standard Liege hoped to build their team around Raskin but he is now open to the transfer to Rangers. Personal terms are already in place between the Belgian and Gers over a four-and-a-half-year contract, too. Les Rouches’ snub has also not dented any desires at Ibrox.
Talks are ongoing between Rangers and Standard Liege as Michael Beale looks to secure a transfer for Raskin. His Premiership giants are now preparing to increase their rejected six-figure offer. Although it remains to be seen how close Rangers’ bid is to their asking price.

Raskin has held a medical with Rangers ahead of a transfer from Standard Liege
Rangers are pushing to agree on a transfer with Standard Liege for Raskin as Beale wants to bolster his midfield. The Gers boss appreciates what the Liege native has shown at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne. He has one goal and four assists in 18 appearances this season.
All of Raskin’s goal involvements have come in the Jupiler Pro League over 17 outings this term. But Deila has left the central technician out of each of his five top-flight squads since the 2022 World Cup. Les Rouches are next in action on Friday night at home to KAS Eupen.
Raskin, whom Belgium U21 boss Jacky Mathijssen says has ‘excellent technique’, has held a medical with Rangers, per Le Soir. The Belgian publication claims the midfielder travelled to London to undergo fitness tests with the Gers. But Ibrox chiefs are still to finalise a deal.
