Michal Beale is “so keen” on luring Lyndon Dykes to Rangers and forming a reunion between himself and the Scotland striker at Ibrox – but journalist Dean Jones reports that he is “hearing” that he could sign a new deal to end speculation.
Dykes, 27, is currently at second-tier side QPR – where he worked under Beale during the first part of the season. He was brought to Loftus Road from Livingston by Mark Warburton, another ex-Rangers manager – costing QPR £2m.
He has been excellent for QPR. While he has scored 27 goals in 105 appearances for QPR, also laying on eight assists, it is his work ethic and ability to bring others into play that makes him a weapon. Scottish fans will know all about that.
Last week, Jones reported that Beale was keen on signing Dykes. Now, the reporter has told Give Me Sport that Beale is “so keen” on signing the QPR man. But, QPR are putting plans in place to prevent a move – by offering a new deal.
“Rangers are retaining their interest in QPR striker Lyndon Dykes as Beale is so keen on him. But now I’m hearing that the Hoops are offering him a new deal to try to make sure that move does not happen,” Jones said, on Dykes.

Beale so keen on luring Dykes to Rangers but he could sign a new deal
Rangers need a striker like Dykes. Antonio Colak is back from injury, but there are question marks over whether he is the no.9 Beale wants up top. Alfredo Morelos has been first choice so far – but the Colombian’s deal ends in June.
Beale has also suggested he would like to play two up front at times. Having another striker in the mould of Morelos and Colak is important, then, and Dykes would be perfect. His strength, work rate and hold-up play would be ideal.
But QPR will be confident of raking in a figure north of the £2million they paid Livingston in 2020. Rightly so. He still has 18 months left on his contract with the Championship side. So, QPR are in a decent position to request a big fee.
