Rangers must resist calls to start Jordan Rossiter against Celtic.

Everything Rangers have tried so far against Celtic so far has failed, so it is no wonder fans are craving fresh options.
Youngster Jordan Rossiter continued his rehabilitation from injury this week with a start for the under-20s in a 6-0 win against Leicester City, a surprisingly one-sided result.
This led to Rangers fans calling for Rossiter to start or feature in the Old Firm game this weekend.
While tempting to throw the youngster in, this would also be the worst thing Rangers could do for the midfielder.

Rossiter has not played a league games since August, and he has made only four appearances all seasons.
Playing in the under-20s is one thing; making the jump suddenly into an Old Firm game up against Scott Brown is another.
Rossiter is notoriously injury prone, he has made only 10 appearances since signing in 2016.

Rangers have been patient with him and are keen not to rush him back.
Making a decision to feature him against Celtic would go against everything they have done so far, and it would be a decision made due to the first team’s problems as opposed to what’s best for Rossiter.
The young midfielder is making positive progress so far in his comeback from injury, and Rangers would undo by throwing him straight in.
He would risk further injury and face a summer on the sidelines, when pre-season will be so valuable next season to continue gradually getting him back to full speed.
