Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has opened up on the Light Blues “tough” pre-season so far and admits winning the title last season is driving the Gers on to win even more silverware this term.
Aribo was a massive player for Steven Gerrard’s side as they romped to title number 55, scoring eight times and chipping in a further seven assists in his 42 appearances.
After the celebrations that followed the league title win, the Rangers staff have pushed the Light Blues’ stars on their return to training with Aribo calling the sessions so far this summer “really intense.”
“One thing I can say is it has been tough!” Aribo told Rangers TV.
“It has been nice to come back and see the boys first of all, but the training has been really intense and the staff have pushed us hard so it has been tough.
“During the summer, we had a lot of time to think about it, enjoy it and it is now onto the new season and we want to do what we did last season again – continue winning and be successful.
“Once you get that taste of winning, you want to win again and win even more – you never want to lose, and that is just going to drive us even more to push and be the best we can be all season long.”
Super Eagles star will be crucial for Rangers in title defence
Aribo has returned looking like he spent a fair bit of his free time over the summer in the gym and Rangers will be hoping they can benefit from his new physique.

The Nigerian was accused of being a bit lightweight at times so his bulked-up frame should help him against the robust Scottish defences.
Finding a settled position this season should also really help him after flitting between several different roles over the course of the season.
