Rangers have been linked with a move for Elfsborg central defender Joseph Ukumu as Steven Gerrard’s strengthens his squad for the Light Blues’ title defence – but the Gers’ support were far from sold on the idea.

The Gers are among a host of clubs reported to be interested in signing the 24-year-old, according to Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, with Old Firm rivals Celtic also said to be keen.
With no suitable bids received so far, Elfsborg aren’t willing to part with one of their prized assets yet – although it appears like it is just a matter of time.
Lorient, Reims and Gent are all also in the hunt for the defender’s signature and some Gers fans were left a bit concerned that targeting another central defender could spell the end for the likes of Connor Goldson.
With Goldson, Leon Balogun, Filip Helander, Niko Katic, George Edmundson and Jack Simpson already at the club, central defence is the last area of the pitch Rangers need reinforcements.
The reported interest in the Kenyan has only received a lukewarm, at best, response from Rangers fans – although there are some who would like to see him arrive at Ibrox this summer.
Rangers have already added Fashion Sakala and Nnamdi Ofoborh to their title-winning squad so it will be interesting to see what other new faces arrive at Ibrox this summer.
