Rangers now look set to bring Morgan Whittaker to Ibrox after a significant development in the transfer saga occurred.
What’s the story?
Well, Rangers saw a £900,000 bid rejected by Swansea when making their first move – according to the Scottish Sun.
The Scottish giants then had an improved offer worth £1.5m rejected – according to the Daily Record – with a third bid expected to be made.
Whittaker is said to be keen on swapping Swansea for Rangers.
Now, it seems something significant is about to happen, after the 22-year-old was left out of the Swansea squad for their clash with Queens Park Rangers in the Championship earlier today.
It came just 24 hours after Russell Martin – Manager of Swansea – told the media that Whittaker would be involved, and that all parties “need to draw a line under” the transfer saga.

That seemingly put an end to the speculation, although Martin’s decision to leave the Swansea No.11 out suggests a development must have happened.
In our view, Rangers either increased their bid significantly, or Whittaker – who Swansea signed from Derby County for £700,000 – agitated for the move and upset Martin in the process.
Whatever the reason, it feels as if the England Under-20 international will now be heading to Ibrox, in our view at least.
Whittaker could breathe new life into Rangers
So far this season, Whittaker has proven himself to be a real livewire on the flank.
The 22-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Plymouth Argyle before Swansea recently recalled him to the Liberty Stadium, scoring nine goals in 25 League One appearances.
Whittaker also provided seven assists in those outings, as he played both centrally and on the right of the attack.
At the age of just 22, the sky is the limit for Whittaker – be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as it seems he is close to joining Rangers.
