Scottish Premiership champions Rangers have submitted a £5 million bid for Andreas Skov Olsen as they look to lure the Denmark international away from Serie A outfit Bologna, as reported by Il Resto del Carlino.
Nathan Patterson hasn’t even arranged the furniture in his new Merseyside home but it seems that Rangers are wasting little time as they look to make good use of their £16 million windfall.
Patterson became the most expensive export in Rangers history when he completed his big-money move to Everton on Tuesday.
And, if Bologna are willing to play ball, the Glasgow giants will re-invest a third of that £16 million jackpot in a man who is crying out for a fresh start and a scene of scenery.
Rangers appear to have made a new winger their top prioritity this month.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s league leaders reportedly enquired about a loan-to-buy deal for Galatasaray’s Romanian speedster Olimpiu Morutan in December.
The Istanbul-based outfit distanced themselves from a January sale this week, however, with Skov Olsen looking like a far more attainable option.
Is Andreas Skov Olsen joining Rangers?
The 22-year-old has been in and out of the Bologna side this season, failing to nail down a regular first-team berth after scoring just three times in 67 games for the Rossoblu.

Given his dreadful goalscoring record in Italy – Skov Olsen admitted himself that he is ‘disappointed’ with his recent performances – it may come as a surprise to learn that Rangers are willing to part with up to £5 million.
Skov Olsen would become the club’s sixth-biggest signing of all time, and their most expensive since Ryan Kent nearly three years ago.
The Gers are taking a punt on potential, however.
Skov Olsen exploded onto the scene with 22 goals for Nordsjaelland in the 2018/19 season and, if he can rediscover his golden touch at Ibrox, that £5 million investment could be repaid with interest.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail (1 January, back page), Van Bronckhorst’s side made official contact with Skov Olsen a few days ago.
Rangers have also been linked with a swoop for AZ Alkmaar’s Albert Gudmundsson.
