Rangers have made a bid for Dutch midfielder Joey Veerman, according to a report, as the Light Blues look to make him their latest signing.

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Rangers have offered €4.5million (£3.8m), €1million short of Italian side Verona and considerably short of Herenveen’s asking price.
The likes of Atalanta, PSV and Ajax have all been linked with the 22-year-old but, according to Dutch media, the only two concrete offers have come from Scotland and Italy.
Herenveen boss Johnny Jansen has admitted that his club have previously been looking for around €10million (£8.5m) but conceded that could “scare” clubs looking to sign Veerman.
Veerman himself has called the price tag on his head “crazy” and thinks the bid by Verona “very reasonable”, saying: “I think the Italians have made a very reasonable offer but, when I hear what Heerenveen is asking for, it can sometimes be very difficult,” Veerman said.
“Ten to twelve million, I think that’s crazy. After Corona, with empty stadiums, the money is pretty much gone everywhere. Then I honestly don’t think this (price-tag) makes any sense.”
Veerman would be a fantastic addition for Rangers ahead of Champions League qualifiers
Rangers have already added Fashion Sakala, Nnamdi Ofoborh and John Lundstram this summer as Gerrard prepares for a title defence and crack at Champions League qualifying.

The Dutchman’s potential arrival has got Rangers fans excited – and it will massively increase the competition for places in the starting XI.
While it seems certain Herenveen won’t negotiate at the price reportedly offered, it appears Rangers have made Veerman their top target this summer now.
It wouldn’t come as a big surprise if Rangers even end up having to pay more than the £7m that brought Ryan Kent to Ibrox permanently.
