Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is wanted by Derby County as the forward is lined up for a surprise move away from Ibrox this summer.
The Gers have needed some reinforcements this summer and they have placed a strong emphasis on attacking additions.
Striker Antonio Colak has come in from PAOK whilst Tom Lawrence arrived on a free transfer from Derby County.
The latest addition is another one for the final third with Rangers managing to land Bayern Munich talent Malik Tillman on loan with an option to buy.
There may now be scope for some players to leave Ibrox though and a surprise rumour has emerged this weekend.
Rangers striker Kemar Roofe is wanted by Derby County
The Sunday Mirror (17/07, p74) report that Derby County now want to land Roofe.
It’s stated that Derby are considering a loan bid to lure Roofe away from Ibrox this summer.
Roofe, 29, scored 16 goals in 36 games across all competitions last season whilst also adding two assists.
10 goals in 21 league games is a very impressive record for Roofe, though there have been a few injury niggles during his time with Rangers.
Roofe joined Rangers from Anderlecht back in 2020 and his total record of 34 goals in 72 games for the Gers is hugely impressive.

Roofe was even hailed as ‘lethal’ by pundit Owen Hargreaves last season as he played an important role in Rangers’ run to the Europea League final.
Rangers fans can’t have been expecting to lose Roofe this summer but his playing time may take a hit.
Alfredo Morelos is still first choice striker and with Colak on board to support the Colombian, Roofe could end up being third choice striker.
It would be even more surprising to see Roofe in League One, as even though Derby are a massive club, half of the Championship would probably want to sign Roofe.
Rangers’ attacking additions make Roofe’s future unclear, and Derby may now look to push for a really ambitious signing despite their relegation.
