Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has suggested that he wasn’t at all interested in the speculation linking him with a move away from Ibrox.

The Gers managed to get out of the summer transfer window without losing any key players – even with no Champions League football this season.

One of the players linked with a move away was Kamara, with major interest from in England and even further afield.

Arsenal picked out Kamara as a target this summer according to Give Me Sport, with the Gunners targeting a £10million deal.

Arsenal only released Kamara back in 2017, but have been so impressed with his development over the last four years that they wanted him to return to North London.

The Gunners ended up signing Albert Sambi Lokonga as their one midfield addition, but add in interest from Everton and West Ham United and Kamara was a man in demand.

Spartak Moscow have been interested too, as they can not only offer him a big wage rise but also a move closer to his home country of Finland.

Kamara’s contract expires in 2023, meaning he is bound to attract more and more interest the closer he gets to being a free agent.

Now, Kamara has been quoted by The Scottish Sun as saying that he was ‘not very interested’ in reading the speculation around his future.

Kamara acknowledged there is interest in his signature, but nothing happened in the end and he just tried to focus on playing anyway, having been playing for Finland at Euro 2020.

“I know there has been interest from different leagues but my focus has always been on Rangers,” said Kamara. “I myself was not very interested in it. Mostly I thought that if something happens, then it will happen. But nothing happened in the end,” he added.
