The Gers swooped to sign Sakala last summer as his contract with Oostende ran out.
The Zambian striker has impressed in Belgium, hitting 31 goals in 102 games for Oostende including 16 goals in his final season with the club.
Rangers were more than happy to land Sakala on a free transfer but they haven’t quite seen the best of him.
There have been glimpses of Sakala’s quality with his pace causing mayhem at times, but it just hasn’t been consistent enough.

Homme du Match in France report that Auxerre have asked Rangers about a season-long loan deal for Sakala.
It’s stated that Auxerre really appreciate Sakala’s qualities but a deal will be difficult to pull off this summer.

That’s something that may appeal, but Sakala is surely unwilling to give up on his Rangers career after just one campaign.

12 goals and seven assists in 50 games for Rangers isn’t a bad record by any stretch, but the Gers will expect much more from him moving forward if they are to snub Auxerre’s advances.
