Rangers loanee Martin has confirmed he will return to Norwich City on Instagram.

Rangers defender Russell Martin has informed fans on Instagram that he will not be staying at Ibrox beyond the end of his loan from Norwich City – and fans have reacted by thanking him for his loyalty, while others are relieved.
Martin, 32, joined the club on loan from Championship side Norwich in the January transfer window and was instilled as the Gers’ first-choice centre-back despite a number of shaky performances.
He turned out 17 times for the Scottish giants, scoring once in a 2-0 win over Hearts at Ibrox back in February, but he failed to fill the Gers fanbase with confidence as he struggled to keep up with the pace of the Scottish game.

Rangers have confirmed Jamie Murphy will remain at Ibrox beyond his loan, while Martin joins Sean Goss in stating that they will not be remaining at Ibrox. Jason Cummings’ future is yet to be confirmed.
Rangers fans reacted on Twitter to Martin’s Instagram post in which he thanked fans for their support, with the majority applauding the defender for both his efforts and his loyalty when he donned the Light Blue shirt.
However, some have expressed their relief at seeing Martin leave the club. One fan Tweeted: “Good luck for the future”, while another described him as a “horrendous centre-half”.
