Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Alfredo Morelos is available for this weekend’s Premiership clash with Dundee United but admitted Ryan Jack is still “another couple of weeks” away from a return to action.

Morelos has just completed a stint in quarantine after his return from Colombia and has missed out on the Gers‘ two fixtures so far this season but could come into contention to start against Malmo on Tuesday.

Gerrard also confirmed that Ianis Hagi will miss the trip to Tannadice after aggravating the injury picked up against Livingston in the warm-up before the Malmo game midweek, however Kemar Roofe and Glen Kamara return to the squad after missing out against the Swedes.

“We will be without Ianis Hagi. Roofe is available to return to the group,” Gerrard said.

“Kamara will return to the squad. Morelos is available but he will need a couple of sessions on his return. Ryan Jack will be another couple of weeks all being well.”

While Gerrard gave an update on a number of his stars, there was nothing on the status of Joe Aribo.

The Nigerian was absent against Malmo with no explanation and it appears he could miss out this weekend again.

The Rangers star is a big part of how the Light Blues midfield operates and missing him at Tannadice would be a big blow for the Gers.
