Rangers defender Calvin Bassey has spoken of his pride at helping to make history with Steven Gerrard’s side last season as they won a world record 55th league title – calling the title success the “best feeling” of his life.
Bassey was back up to Borna Barisic as the Light Blues romped to the title, making eight league appearances following his move from Leicester City.
The full-back will be hoping to get more minutes this season for the Gers after his “amazing” first year in Scotland.
“We made history so it’s been an amazing year,” Bassery told Rangers TV.
“One of our goals was to win the league, obviously that was our main priority, and winning the league was an amazing thing, the best feeling – probably the best feeling of my life.”
“I know how much it means to the club and the fans and it’s been a very good year. I’m proud to be a part of it and to have been involved with the players and coaching staff.”
Bassey will face a real fight for Rangers place against Barisic

With Barisic having been one of Rangers’ best performers last season, Bassey is going to have to really up his game if he’s to have any chance of deposing the Croatian.
With Glenn Middleton again filling in at left-back during the friendly with Tranmere, it seems Gerrard still thinks the Scotland youth international could also have a future there.
