Rangers have confirmed the signing of Irish youth international Charlie McCann from Manchester United, signing the talented midfielder on a three-year deal.
McCann joins the Light Blues B team squad in the Lowland League and admits that once he’d heard of the interest from Rangers, it was a no-brainer to move to Ibrox.
The midfielder was a stand-out for Manchester United last season in their under-23 side and his arrival at Ibrox is something of a coup for the Gers.
McCann is looking forward to sampling the Ibrox atmosphere as a player and believes moving to Scotland can help him take the “next step” in his career after three years at Old Trafford.
“I’m delighted to get the move over the line, I was obviously really excited when I heard the news and I knew that it was a no brainer,” McCann told Rangers TV.
“I can’t wait to get started now and I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s just unreal [Ibrox] it’s such a great experience and I can’t wait to see what it will be like when there is a full house of fans!
“I feel like I’ve gotten to the point where I need the next step and this is the best option for me to make that and hopefully push myself to get nearer the first team. The staff here and the people that I spoke to me made it clear their intentions and everything that they said interested me so much.”
The Light Blues have won three of their four games in the Lowland League so far this season and David McCallum’s side have quickly caught the attention of fans.

McCann’s addition to the Rangers squad is a real statement of intent and adds yet another really talented youngster to the Gers’ ranks.
Fans will be watching on keenly when he makes his debut for the Colts as they look to make history in their debut Lowland League campaign.
