Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is being linked with a move away from Ibrox with interest emanating from all over Europe, but if Andy Halliday’s claim about Michael Beale is true – he simply cannot let the Finnish star leave Glasgow.

Kamara, 27, has endured a bit of a stop-start campaign so far at Ibrox. Not Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first pick, he has often watched from the bench with John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Steven Davis competition. He has played 16 times.

Indeed, only nine of those games have come from the start. But that game time could improve now, with Beale in the dugout. That is because, Andy Halliday recently said that Kamara – and Joe Aribo – were his favourites while at Ibrox.

But ahead of January, Kamara may opt to leave. Italian site Tutto Salernitana report that clubs from La Liga, Ligue 1 and Serie A are all interested in signing the midfielder – like Salernitana. He has a rating of around £10m, ahead of January.

The report claims that Kamara has actually asked to leave Rangers. But, if Halliday’s comments are true, Beale simply cannot let Kamara go in the January window. Instead, he needs to give the £21k-a-week man the confidence to shine.

Beale cannot let Kamara leave Rangers if Halliday claim is true

Rangers are hardly in a position where they can sell players such as Kamara. Players that have proven in the past that they can make a difference. Emphasis will be on handing the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos new Ibrox deals.

Kamara can be the basis in which Beale forms his new Rangers. He can be the heartbeat that takes Rangers from the van Bronckhorst era, to the Beale tenure. Rangers cannot cash in on Kamara, it would be the last thing Beale wants.
