Rangers have signed Antonio Colak and his former Malmo boss Jon Dahl Tomasson is backing him for major success at Ibrox.
The Gers knew they needed to find a new striker this summer whether Alfredo Morelos stayed or not.
At the moment, the Colombian remains a Rangers player and is set to lead the line when back from injury.
Still, Rangers needed to add another goalscoring threat after the exit of Cedric Itten and the injury record of Kemar Roofe.
A centre forward with target man capabilities was wanted and Rangers pounced for their man earlier this month.
Rangers have signed Antonio Colak
Rangers identified Croatian hitman Colak as their top striker target and managed to secure his signature in a £1.8million deal.
It’s fair to say that the 28-year-old has had a pretty mixed career to date.
Colak has turned out for Karlsruher, Nurnburg, Lechia Gdansk, Hoffenheim, Kaiserslautern, Darmstadt, Ingolstadt, Rijeka, PAOK and Malmo.
That nomadic career means Rangers are taking a risk but two spells in his career will give Gers fans hope of great success.
Colak really hit top form during a stint with Rijeka between 2018 and 2020, smashing 51 goals in 92 games for the Croatian side.
Goals were hard to come bay at PAOK, but Colak did hit 22 goals in 41 outings for Malmo, showing that he knows where the net is if given the service.
Rangers fans will remember two of those goals; he scored a brace at Ibrox last summer to help Malmo dump Rangers out of the Champions League qualifiers.

The challenge will be for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to get the best out of Colak just as Jon Dahl Tomasson did at Malmo.
Van Bronckhorst and Tomasson certainly know each other well; they played together at Feyenoord between 2008 and 2010.
Tomasson got Colak firing and the now-Blackburn Rovers boss thinks Rangers have landed a top signing.
Tomasson told The Scottish Sun that Colak is an ‘excellent player’ as well as a great character in the dressing room whilst he can always be relied upon for 100% effort.
The Dane added that he believes in Van Bronckhorst to get the best out of Colak, predicting he will score plenty of goals for Rangers.
“He’s an excellent player and he made it tough for Rangers last season by scoring those two goals at Ibrox,” said Tomasson. “Colak is a great person and excellent for the dressing room as well, always giving maximum effort.”
“I think he will score goals for Rangers. He is a great team player and I like team players. He has a great attitude but it all depends on the manager. I know Giovanni van Bronckhorst very well and he’s clever enough to make the right choices,” he added.
