Some West Ham United fans on Twitter think that Declan Rice has proved that he is better than Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Rice and Phillips are England international teammates, and the two midfielders faced each other in the Premier League game between Leeds and West Ham at Elland Road on Friday evening.

The Hammers won the match 2-1, with Rice, who can also operate as a defender, having a good game in the middle of the park, as he protected the back-line and drove the team forward.

According to WhoScored, Rice played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 82.1%, won three headers, took 37 touches, attempted two dribble, and made two interceptions.

Phillips did not exactly have a bad game, as he did his best to break down West Ham’s attacks and closed space well.

However, West Ham attacker Said Benrahma got the better of the England international midfielder in the second half.

According to WhoScored, the Leeds star took one shot which was not on target, had a pass accuracy of 90.3%, took 78 touches, and made three interceptions and two clearances.

Some West Ham fans believe that Rice showed on Friday night that he is a better defensive midfielder than fellow England international Phillips amid debate who the better player is.
