Rio Ferdinand has said on his YouTube channel that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur will not be able to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
Ferdinand believes that if Sterling, linked with a move to Arsenal, does not play regularly this season, then he will leave City next summer.
However, the former Manchester United defender does not think that Arsenal or Tottenham will be able to sign the ex-Liverpool star.
The Daily Star reported over the weekend that Arsenal are monitoring the 26-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.
Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel: “I will say it now. If Raheem, if he continues like this, Raheem will not be there next season.
“He can’t sit on the bench, he is not that type of guy. He is a winner, he wants to win.”
The pundit added: “Tottenham can’t get in the mix, Arsenal can’t get in the mix with a Sterling right now.”

Sterling to leave Manchester City?
Sterling has been superb for City over the years, winning the Premier League title thrice and the EFL Cup on four occasions.
The former Liverpool star also helped the Citizens reach the Champions League final last season.
Sterling was a key player in England reaching the Euro 2020 final in the summer.
However, the 26-year-old is not playing regularly this season.
The attacking midfielder has made only two starts in the Premier League so far this campaign.
It is hard to see Sterling – who cost City £44 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Liverpool in 2015, as reported by BBC Sport at the time – stay at City beyond this season if he becomes a fringe player for manager Pep Guardiola.
