The Irishman had been tipped to reunite with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Loftus Road.
McCrory in action for the Brewers
Queens Park Rangers will not be signing Damien McCrory it seems, after the left-back signed a new two-year deal at Burton Albion.
Get West London reported in May that McCrory was on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s list of targets, with the pair having worked together at the Pirelli Stadium.
QPR released Armand Traore at the end of the campaign, while another left-sided full-back Paul Konchesky has returned to parent club Leicester City.
Konchesky is one of two left-backs to depart QPR this summer
McCrory, who was out of contract in Staffordshire, seemed like a logical replacement for the pair, and according to Brewers boss Nigel Clough, the Irishman will have had other offers.
“With him being out of contract he will have had other offers but he wants to continue with us and move with the club from League Two, League One and now the Championship,” Clough told the club website.
Brentford’s Jake Bidwell is another left-back linked with a move to Loftus Road this summer, though the R’s are reluctant to meet their neighbours’ £3 million asking price, according to Get West London.
Hasselbaink giving up on his apparent left-back pursuit would perhaps not be the worst thing, with ex-Liverpool man Jack Robinson and academy prospect Cole Kpekawa already on his books.
Versatile defender James Perch can also play there if needed, as can prospective new signing Joel Lynch.
