Well, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min definitely struggled for Tottenham Hotspur in Wednesday’s defeat away to Manchester United.
Spurs slumped to their second Premier League defeat of the campaign, losing 2-0 at Old Trafford.
In major games, Tottenham desperately need the likes of Kane and Son – their best attackers – to show up, but they failed to have much of a positive impact against Erik ten Haag’s outfit at the Theatre of Dreams.
Lisandro Martinez, reportedly wanted by Antonio Conte last summer, posted a pretty solid defensive performance against the Lilywhites’ duo.
And the former Ajax defender has conceded that silencing the Tottenham pair was the priority before the game, acknowledging their ‘quality’.

He told United’s official website: “I think we were very solid in defence tonight,” said Martinez, praising his team-mates. They [Kane and Son] have a lot of quality, very strong, and a lot technical [ability] as well.”
Tottenham are becoming a little concerning in the big Premier League affairs.
They were fortunate not to lose at Chelsea in August and then were comfortably beaten by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium earlier in October.
Winning the big games is going to determine how good Conte’s side truly are and you have to say, this season they’re coming up short when it really matters.
They’re still only four points behind Arsenal at the summit, but you can see that deficit increasing unless the Italian instills a big-game mentality in his North Londoners.
