Middlesbrough face Everton on Saturday in the Premier League, and HITC pundits give their predictions on the likely outcome.

Dan Coombs

Middlesbrough 1-3 Everton

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka continues to look and act moody, and perhaps he is a heavy defeat away from a full scale meltdown. Everton should be too strong for the hosts, and this won’t help the Spaniard’s demeanour. Everton are in good form and Romelu Lukaku has to build on his four goal haul against Bournemouth.

Middlesbrough 0-1 Everton

The chances of Everton netting six for the second week in a row are pretty slim. Boro have one of the best defensive records in the league but, as shown in last week’s narrow loss at Spurs, lack the cutting edge to back up their solidity.

Middlesbrough 1-3 Everton

Middlesbrough are in serious trouble and I’m not sure Aitor Karanka knows how to turn things round. Their problem all season has been scoring goals, and it is one that persists despite being linked with some ambitious signings in January. Everton look rampant but vulnerable, but should once again outscore their opponents at the Riverside.

Vincent Ralph

Middlesbrough 1-2 Everton

Everton will be buzzing after their 6-3 hammering of Bournemouth last time out and although they are away from home they will be quietly confident of getting three more points under their belt. Middlesbrough need the points to pull away from the relegation zone but I can’t see them getting any if the Toffees play to their full potential.

Che Thomas

Middlesbrough 0-1 Everton

Middlesbrough managed to keep the scoreline down to one away to Spurs last weekend, even though they offered little in attack. Everton on the other hand, smashed six goals past Bournemouth, with Lukaku in devastating form, so the Belgian will be hopeful of netting the winner up on Teesside.

Two sides on contrasting runs, so it’s only natural to go the way of the form book on this one. Ronald Koeman has finally got Everton firing and a 3-1 win is on the cards – as in September’s meeting.
