The 2024 summer transfer window is open and Mikel Arteta is hoping to use the market to take his team to the next level again.

This time last summer, the London club were bringing in Kai Havertz in a surprise deal from Chelsea, whilst Declan Rice secured a club-record transfer from West Ham United.

“A left-footed maybe inverted fullback or something,” said Laurens about where or how Calafiori could play.
“I would love it to happen, I won’t lie. It’s a bit complicated because Basel will get 45% of the transfer fee, so there are a few things to sort out. I love Calafiori.
“I am so excited because I think he is a wonderful player. He will fit in so well with what Arteta wants to do. It gives you a different option as well. If Gabriel has a bit of a dip, you can put Calafiori there and put somebody else at left-back.”
