Gabby Agbonlahor has told TalkSPORT that £25million-rated Newcastle target Leandro Trossard would thrive at Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham – with a scrap for the Brighton star’s signature expected come the January window.
Trossard, 27, is thriving at Brighton. This season, the Belgium international has scored an impressive seven goals in 12 Premier League games. On Saturday, Trossard netted in a 4-1 win over Chelsea – against old boss Graham Potter.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey via the Talking Transfers podcast, Newcastle want Trossard. A fee of £25m is enough to land the ex-Genk star. Dan Ashworth is said to be on board with a Toon move for the Belgian ace.
But Agbonlahor told TalkSPORT on Tuesday morning that Trossard – who is out of contract at Brighton in June – would do a job for Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea. Agbonlahor forecasts a scrap for his signature in January.
“He’s improved so much. Adding goals as well, he’s a threat,” Agbonlahor said. “He’s going to attract a lot of clubs over Europe – Premier League clubs will look at him as well. He could do a job at Arsenal, Chelsea or Spurs.
“So I think now he’s playing like he is, maybe January, if Brighton can get a bit of money for him, they might look to sell him in January,” Agbonlahor continued, when asked about the future of Trossard at Brighton, ahead of January.

Agbonlahor: Trossard would thrive at Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham
Which club would be the best move for Trossard? Newcastle could do with a winger. Miguel Almiron has been on fire, but he is only just starting to prove his worth at Newcastle. Allan Saint-Maximin is somewhat prone to injury.
So, Trossard would be a decent addition on Tyneside – especially at £25million. At Arsenal, you would expect him to struggle to start over Gabriel Martinelli, and definitely would not get in over Bukayo Saka. Chelsea have options.
But the chance to work under Potter would appeal. However, his best move might be Tottenham. A club still in the Champions League, but a club that needs more up top – heightened by injuries to Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.
