Craig Burley has brushed off the suggestion of Tottenham potentially signing Sergio Ramos, as he told ESPN.
The former Scotland international also claimed that there have been ‘some stories’ at Tottenham this season, as he made reference to the Antonio Conte saga.
In what seems like an age now, Spurs fans were dreaming about the possibility of securing the coaching talents of Conte.
But just like many candidates have found out since, those talks have broken down, and in the end, resulted in Spurs being back at square one in their manager search.
Nonetheless, with Real Madrid legend and two-time Euro winner, Ramos, being a free agent next month, Burley was responding to claims of him potentially becoming a Tottenham player.
“Why would Ramos go to Spurs,” asked Burley. “We have had some stories this year, haven’t we?!
“Antonio Conte to Spurs. Oh my God, that was never happening.”

This is the most testing time of Daniel Levy’s reign as Spurs chairman because it has been an utter embarrassment for the English businessman during these past few months.
Both Wolves and Everton parted ways with their managers well after Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho, yet the Midlands side have already brought in a replacement.
And it is being suggested that by next week, Rafael Benitez, will be the new Everton boss in what is a surprise appointment.
What’s even more worrying for Spurs is that pre-season is around the corner, yet no new face has arrived.
If things continue in this manner then Ryan Mason might be asked to take the reigns once more because there isn’t anyone to plan for the forthcoming campaign.
