Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke has suggested on Unibet.co.uk that Simone Zaza may not be at West Ham United for too long.

Zaza joined West Ham on a season-long loan deal from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

According to a recent report in The Sun, the Hammers will have to sign the Italy international striker on a permanent contract if he features in 14 matches.

It has been reported that the Premier League outfit will have to pay as much as £20 million in order to secure the services of the 25-year-old.

Zaza’s father, Antonio, who is also his agent, recently told Tuttojuve.com that West Ham have an obligation to sign the Juventus-owned striker on a permanent contract after 10 appearances (click here to read more).

Former Arsenal midfielder Clarke, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, has suggested that the former Sassuolo player may not play enough number of matches for the Hammers to earn a permanent contract with the London side.

“It’s been a bit of a disaster for Zaza, who has looked way short of the standards required,” Clarke wrote about Zaza on Unibet.co.uk while including him in his list of ’11 new players who deserve to sent packing already after shocking starts’.

“Goals could change everything of course, but as it stands West Ham fans are distinctly unimpressed with the contributions of a player that Slaven BIlic rates highly.

“It could get even worse. There are unconfirmed reports that the Hammers MUST buy the striker for around £20million if he makes 10 appearances. At this rate he won’t get that far.”

Zaza has featured in four Premier League matches for West Ham so far this season, creating seven chances in the process.

The Italy international has yet to score in the league for the Hammers, and none of his five shots has been on target.
