Puka Nacua’s light-hearted attempt to catch Sydney Sweeney’s attention quickly turned into a social media moment, with unexpected competition arriving almost immediately from an NFL rival.

The exchange unfolded online and gained traction as fans watched two athletes respond to the same prompt in real time.

What started as a playful comment soon became a brief but viral crossover between sports and pop culture.

Sydney Sweeney’s dating criteria sparks Puka Nacua’s response

The conversation began after a tweet circulated online in which Sweeney outlined what she looks for in a partner.

The tweet was shared widely, including by Complex, and immediately caught the attention of fans and athletes alike.

“Athletic and outgoing and funny. I’m a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me. And someone who loves their family,” Sweeney said.

The criteria struck a chord with Nacua, whose on-field reputation and off-field personality have made him a fan favourite. It did not take long for the Rams’ wide receiver to make his presence felt.

Puka Nacua and Bills star Re’Mah Davis trade playful replies

Nacua responded directly with a short but pointed message, posted on his personal account and shared widely online via X.

“Love skydiving,” he wrote.

That response was soon met with competition from Buffalo Bills return specialist Re’Mah Davis, who added his own comment into the mix.

“I can probably add skydiving to my bucket list,” Davis wrote.

The exchange quickly caught the attention of fans, who framed it as a playful rivalry rather than anything serious. Not long after the reaction spread, Davis deleted his tweet, leaving Nacua’s reply as the lasting one.

The brief moment highlighted how quickly sports figures can find themselves part of viral conversations far removed from the field.
