Amid doubts over Ousmane Dembele’s future at Barcelona, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have expressed an interest in bringing him to the Premier League.

The £135.5m man’s contract at the Camp Nou expires in June, and he was told to “leave immediately” by Mateu Alemany – Director of Football at Barcelona – in January.

Dembele was even booed by the supporters inside Camp Nou following the January dramatics, as fans turned on the Barcelona No.7 over the winter.

However, the Frenchman has impressed under Xavi, providing 15 goal involvements in 30 games in the form of two goals and 13 assists.

Now, Joan Laporta – President of Barcelona – has given an update.

What’s the story?

Well, it seems Dembele has worked his way back into Barcelona’s good books.

Speaking to Catalunya Radio, Laporta said: “He wants to stay, but he is very tempted by other options that offer better conditions. Our offer has been presented for a long time and they have asked us for time until the end of the season, next week.”

Now, that is very interesting.

Laporta’s comments come after it was said that Dembele was willing to take a pay cut in order to join Tottenham or Newcastle this summer.

Elsewhere, it was said that Arsenal are eyeing the 25-year-old on a free transfer, as Mikel Arteta aims to bolster his frontline.

Arsenal, Tottenham & Newcastle must be alert

In our view, if Dembele does become available on a free transfer this summer, the Premier League trio have to act.

After all, there was a point where it seemed as if the Vernon-born winger was going to become one of the best forwards on the planet when he joined Barcelona for £135.5m back in August 2017.

Unfortunately, Dembele lost his way a bit on Catalonia, but at the age of 25, he still has many years to turn his career around.

Of course, the France international may carry some baggage as a result of his struggles in Spain, but on the basis of pure talent, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle cannot ignore the chance to sign him for nothing.
