Dutch U21 gem Ian Maatsen has now told Chelsea that he wants to join Borussia Dortmund in a January transfer. HITC Football understands the left-back favours the switch to Germany over interest from Premier League teams, including Manchester City, as talks now continue.
Borussia Dortmund also expect Jadon Sancho to join the Bundesliga team from Manchester United by the weekend. HITC Football understands the winger has agreed personal terms to return to the Westfalenstadion. Sancho is now waiting for the final green light to go on loan.
Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Ham United are monitoring Roberto Firmino in view of his possible return to the Premier League. HITC Football understands he would like to return to England if the chance arises just six months after leaving Liverpool to join Saudi side Al-Ahli.

Arsenal have approached Everton over a mid-season transfer for midfielder Amadou Onana, TEAMtalk reports. Gunners coach Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of the Belgian and feels he might pair well with Declan Rice. Arsenal may soon table a bid but face a £60-70m price tag.
Arteta is also targeting the transfer to Arsenal of AFC Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, according to The Telegraph. The 17-year-old is among Europe’s most well-regarded talents and can play as a centre or left-back. Hato has also captained Ajax this season as a mainstay of their side.
Chelsea transfer gossip
England midfielder Conor Gallagher is determined to stay at Chelsea and reject interest from Tottenham Hotspur in a transfer. The Mirror claims the 23-year-old wants to fight for a place at Stamford Bridge. Gallagher has even told Chelsea that he wants to agree a new contract.
Manchester United transfer gossip
Atalanta have slapped a €60m (£52m) price tag on Giorgio Scalvini as Manchester United target the centre-back’s January transfer. SportItalia reports that La Dea are loath to see the 20-year-old leave in the middle of a term. Atalanta are also aware of the Red Devils’ interest.
Manchester United are closely scouting Miguel Gutierrez with a view of the Girona left-back replacing Sergio Reguilon, per The Sun. The Red Devils have watched the defender regularly in recent weeks and believe his high football IQ and attacking profile would suit their squad.
