- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Borussia Dortmund expect Jadon Sancho to officially become their player by the weekend as a third Manchester United exit nears, sources have confirmed to HITC Football.
The England international is close to following Donny van de Beek and Sergio Reguilon out of Old Trafford, after the Dutchman moved to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan and Tottenham recalled the Spaniard.
So, what have HITC Football now been told about Manchester United No.25 Jadon Sancho and Borussia Dortmund? Let’s take a look…
Borussia Dortmund close in on Sancho reunion
HITC Football understands that the Bundesliga outfit hope the 23-year-old will be training with them at their winter base in Marbella by the weekend, after his fallout with Erik ten Hag.
Regardless of whether Sancho does appear in training with Borussia Dortmund or not, sources have confirmed that the German giants expect the loan deal to be finalised within the coming days.
Personal terms have already been agreed between Edin Terzić’s side and the Camberwell-born winger, who is now simply waiting to jet off from his nightmarish stint at Manchester United.

Sources add that Sancho has already told his old pals at Borussia Dortmund about his excitement at returning to the Signal Iduna Park, where he quickly developed into one of Europe’s finest attackers after leaving Manchester City in 2017.
The £73m man remarkably scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in just 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, where he lifted the DFB-Pokal and the DFL-Supercup.
Sources previously told HITC Football that an initial loan deal until the end of the 2023/24 campaign is expected to materialise, although a longer deal running into 2025 has not been ruled out by either Borussia Dortmund or Manchester United.
RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen also showed interest in Sancho, but the £250,000-a-week man’s heart was set on a reunion with Borussia Dortmund.

Best case scenario for Manchester United
In our view, Sancho returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan is the best case scenario for Manchester United.
A move away from the Premier League somewhat takes the pressure away, allowing him to focus on his football once again in an environment where he truly thrived.
That will either see Manchester United welcome a reenergised Sancho back to Old Trafford, or it will hopefully see him restore his value, allowing the Red Devils to recoup a decent fee.
