Liverpool will return to action on Sunday when they take on Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the FA Cup.
The defending Premier League champions are not in good form at the moment and will head into the match against United on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Anfield in the league.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is likely to make a few changes to the team that started against the Clarets and could field his strongest available team.
Belgian striker Divock Origi did not play well against Burnley and is likely to be dropped, and so could right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Described as “impressive” by Barcelona forward Lionel Messi in The Mirror (print edition, page 48, 2020), the England international has not been in good form in recent weeks.
Curtis Jones was an unused substitute against Burnley, and the 19-year-old midfielder – described as “absolutely outstanding” by manager Klopp on Liverpool’s official website earlier this month – could be recalled to the team and start alongside James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum.
This is how Liverpool could line up against Manchester United in the FA Cup today:
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Neco Williams, Rhys Williams, Fabinho, Kostas Tsimikas; Curtis Jones, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Takumi Minamino
