Neil McCann has said on BBC Sport that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was poor against St. Mirren today.

The former Rangers winger was not impressed by what he saw from Ibrox striker Morelos in the Scottish Premiership game this afternoon.

However, the BBC Sport pundit has praised the Colombia international striker for his goal.

McCann said on BBC Sport (12:47pm, October 24, 2021): “Alfredo Morelos has been poor all day but he’s right on the spot for that one, and what a couple of minutes for Rangers.”

Rangers were not at their best in the first half, and Morelos was among the players who were struggling.

The 25-year-old has not been in great form so far this season, and there have been criticisms of the striker.

However, we have to praise Morelos for the goal that he scored.

Yes, St Mirren defender Conor McCarthy should have done better with the cross from James Tavernier, but the awareness that the striker showed was remarkable.

It was also Morelos’s 100th goal for Rangers.

As you can see from the tweets below, Rangers fans were pleased to see Morelos score.

Rangers won 2-1 against St. Mirren away from home to maintain their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Steven Gerrard’s side have picked up 23 points from 10 league games so far this season and are three points clear at the top.
